Hello, I'm Lana. I am 22 years old, working in PR & Marketing.
What's a quick financial tip you'd like to share?
Look after your cents and the dollars will look after themselves.
What would you tell your younger self about money? And why?
Money comes and goes, that's life. You just have to be prepared to endure the highs and the lows and be prepared for the good times and the bad times.
What are some of your earliest money memories?
Watching my Dad collect gold coins in a large glass jar and going to cash them in to my "bank account" when I was old enough to open one.
Please share a story that taught you something about money - what have you learned?
Growing up I was always taught to spend half and save half. No matter how much you earnt whether it was $10 from pocket money or a full salary, I was always taught to separate half for spending and bills and the other half for saving toward something or for a rainy day.
How would you define financial freedom?
Financial freedom is the comfort is not having to stress about finances, being free to spend and save without a second thought and being conscious but not overwhelmed by money.
Tell us anything else you'd like to share about money
I am a really bad money hoarder. To me money is intangible in a sense when it is in my savings account, to me is considered non-existent. Fortunately that mentality has helped me achieve various goals such as travelling and also supported me in rough financial times.
